Capt Carl

I am often known as Capt Carl due to the last 13 years of being the Captain of Loch Luna Cruises. During my time of cruising the River Murray I have increased my birding knowledge in the area.

Although I have been birding since a child with my parents I have focused heavily on birding for the last ten years, especially in South Australia.


I also enjoy travelling Australia with my family to see both the birds and the many varied geography. I am married with three children. My wife has a mild interest in birds. Together we like to travel Australia.

Jeep Commander

We use a Jeep Commander four wheel drive for our tours. This spacious SUV has ample room for Binoculars, Cameras and more. With this capable four wheel drive we can easily travel outback roads in comfort.
